Looking for some opinions on which pipe would be better for kdx220 - running lectron carb, ported with mod head and vforce reeds. Pro-circuit pipe of the FMF desert

It depends on the type of riding you do. The FMF Desert is the rev pipe, and the Procircuit, I would say, is a happy medium between the gnarly torque pipe and the desert-fatty rev pipe. I currently have a Procircuit Platinum 2 on my 200 with the RB Designs carb mods and Boyesen 609 reeds. The 220 has definitely more torque out of the box than the 200, and I think it would be best suited for either of the fatter pipes, FMF or PC.

I spend most my time in tress, rocks and hills. Have the desert pipe now but badly bent/crushed it beyond repair. Was thinking of going PC this time. Looking for more in the middle as I also used to run the woods pipe.

I 100% agree with that description ^^^^

I think the PC Platinum 2 is definitely your best choice then... The Gnarly Woods pipe does quite well on a 220 with RB head and a Lectron 34mm carb or PWK35 Air Striker, but the PC will definitely give more of a mid-range pull/hit than the ultra smooth torquey power delivery of the Gnarly Woods pipe.

I have 2 Gnarly Desert pipes, my first purchases, then bought 2 well used Pro Circuit Platinum 2 pipes, got a Gnarly Woods after that, now I have bought 2 brand new Pro Circuit Platinum 2 pipes while supplies last. They're very likely almost sold out indefinitely again, so you might want to buy one asap. It took almost 4 years to get them to make another batch of 50 as they sold out at the beginning of covid. We may not be able to get them to make another batch in the future unless there is a big demand.

I have run all these pipes on my 220s. The 220 porting is pretty incredible stock although it could use some cleaning up and widening of intakes. all three pipes do quite well on the 220 despite what the naysayers will repeat from what they read off of the internet. Some people just don't do technical writing and have no grasp on how good the Gnarly Woods is for steep slow technical rocky root infested trails.

I really feel that the Pro Circuit Platinum 2 is definitely the best pipe overall for the 220, however. As well as the PC Type 296 spark arrestor.
