Fork Axle and Pinch Clamp Torque Values KX forks??

Anyone have the KX specs for the the Front Axle and the axle pinch clamp torques?

My friends with CRs are off playing on the rivers. I've been torquing the axle to 30 Ft Lbs and the pinch bolts to 75 inch Lbs but with my son riding it I should really know what the design specs were and KX front should be the same or very similar. Thanks in advance.

I don't have a KX manual. I think ski does. PM him.

I vote for 65# and 86".

What year?
I have a manual for a 2002 KX250. That may be different than your forks.

Actually Ski - 2002 KX 125/250 specs would be good and appreciated.

The forks are 46 KYB off a 01 CR 125. I'am looking for ballpark figures. I'am hoping that CC is not correct though on the axle - I've only been torquing it to 30 ft lbs: but he is likely closer than I on the axle pinch clamps.

Green Hornet - is your front axle aluminum?

The axle configurations vary a good bit on different KX models..dont' know about CR models. My axle is steel.

Well...I thought so! I'm sure I would have noticed it being aluminium!! Crimeny...I wouldn't put 65# on an alcoa axle! T6 or not!

I tweaked my frontend last weekend, have to reset it. I'll pay (more) attention this time.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over 75 vs: 86 inches.

Ski? The answear is?

Front axle: 80 ft-lb
Front axle pinch bolts: 14.5 ft-lb

This spec is from the Kawasaki Service Manual for 1999 through 2002 KX125 and KX250

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the information Skipro - CR Axle is aluminum the axle pinch bolts look to be 8mm diameter so I'am good with the 14.5 ft lbs. Just suprised at the axle nut torque.

I'am going to sinch-up the pinch bolts and hold off on the axle until I can talk to someone with a service manual for a CR 125/250.

I wanted to see if YOU would DRINK it!!

Not only is MGD twistop, but I think it's autoclutch, too!

BTW, the REAL axle...the KX axle... is indeed STEEL!

Yes, both my KX forks; '96 and '02 have steel axles. Front and rear

The CR 250 specs are :

Front axle nut = 65 lbft, 88 Nm

Front Axle pinch bolts = 14 lbft, 20 Nm
