Is there a way to repair an H series governor rod that has its top thread mostly broken off ? Wondering if the end can be drilled and tapped? Any thoughts?

I'm sure it can be fixed but at what cost? A skilled welder could build it up, then you could lathe it down, then find the proper reverse thread die, thread it, and you would have a working rod again. I bet that would cost way more than what they currently cost at around $115.

Just thinking out loud, rather than repair it just tig tack the arm with the teeth on it directly to the governor rod, place the tig tack in an area which is easy to cut off with a Dremel attachment

I have a Tig Welder. Pictures would help.

I have checked multiple sources and they are all saying the governor rod has been discontinued or no longer available. Anyone know of any sources?

ebay is your best bet. Actually an entire powervalve system on there now. A bit pricey though at $437, but you will have spare parts or you can resell the rest. Also check salvage yards.
