So, I've had this bike for about a month and a half. And I am slowly going over it fixing messed up things from the previous owners. And I find a small leak. It's on the right side mounting bolt. I look inside the tank and can clearly see the crack.
I am looking at a new IMS tank 3.4 gal. That comes with new shrouds. Anyone out there with one that could give me there thoughts on how well it's made , fit,

The IMS tanks are generally a pretty good fit, better than the Clarks IME. The additional range it gives is nice.

Small crack on the right side is an easy repair, they all seem to crack that side due to the heat of the exhaust

Not a simple fix anymore. I ripped that tank out of frame. So now there is a big hole where the insert was. The mounting bolt was seized in the insert. IMS tank is ordered.

Let us know what you think of it after getting it installed, please.

I will give a report on how well it fit. I was hesitant on ordering it due to the tank coming with new shrouds. I'm guessing oem shrouds won't work.

Ewbarger, hope you like new IMS tank. I really like transparent Clarke tank that has 0.6 to 0.7 gallon greater capacity than OEM.

Update on new IMS 3.4 tank. The tank fit good with out issues. Looks good too. I had issues with the IMS shrouds fitting. I had to drill out the holes larger on the shrouds to get the screws to line up. I was also replacing the reeds for the Boyesen Rad Reed cage. Did the mid body gasket in the carb also. Got the bike back together today and it fired up first kick. Have not taken it on trails yet. I will give another report after some good riding with pictures. For some reason, I can only post pictures on a new subject post.

Not a fan of them using non-OEM shrouds but otherwise looks like it fits well. Color match even looks good in the pics.
