Water pump shaft with pits.

Hey everyone, first time poster here. I just picked up a 1991 kdx200 back in March for $400 as a project bike for my son and I to work on together. This thing has been nothing but problems. We fired it up today and SURPRISE the motor is running in reverse and I went backwards! It also has a pitted water pump shaft and I haven't been able to find a replacement and while I was driving backwards it started spitting out milky colored crank case oil. I've looked everywhere for a shaft and can't find anything. I know someone has a fix I just need to find the right person.
