Been looking at some kits what are you guys goto brands/manufacturer for top end kits thanks

From reading other's posts,Wiseco is the most popular on kdxrider.net.

Beware of the cheap, no name brand piston. (eBay)

Also, I would skip whatever the cheapest name brand is, also.

Wiseco, Vertex or Wossner sound great to me.

So I've setteld for this kit, now I won't be doing straight away and yep I'll measure sizes to make sure

I have read a lot of people say Pro-X is made by ART, a huge Japanese piston company that makes a bunch of the OEM pistons. I would be OK with an ART made piston also.

Just take it apart and measure before buying. Someone on here in the past few months took his apart to find someone had made it a 240cc. I don't think he bought a piston before that, but it would have been bad if he had.

Thanks and yeah I will be taking apart and measuring to make sure depending on condition may get it cleaned up an may need and oversize

If it has not been altered, the cylinder has a coating (Electrofusion). It can not be bored or honed. It can be replated or worse, a sleeve put in.

I did come across that and yeah everyone said steer away from sleeving, never know might be completely within spec when I have a look fingers crossed but based on everything so far it's been thrashed with little to no carc
