Yes.
If it turns out to need a repair and replate, you might want to consider the Eric Gorr 223cc upgrade.

Very few cylinders can’t be repaired.

Easily salvageable. Eric Gorr, Millennium, or Powerseal can all get that cylinder back in to shape rather quickly.

A new ‘95+ 200 cylinder is $493 from partzilla.
Can someone give an idea of the cost to replate a damaged cylinder from millennium? Power seal? Eric Gorr?

If a stock cylinder is not out of round or some major damage, NO WAY would I buy a new one vs. a replate from either place. The aftermarket plating is better than the stock Electrofusion coating.
Millenium
Plate Single Cylinder $224.95
Repair and Plate Single Cylinder $295.95
PowerSealUSA
$199 and $259
I think Millenium used to be $200 and $250. OUCH!

When I had my cylinder replated Millennium found a crack in the exhaust bridge that needed welding to repair. That $295.95 price is what I paid.

Millennium is by far the best. The Eric Gorr 225 would be nice but I would worry about piston availability years from now.
Like mentioned above there are very few cylinders that can't be repaired. Millennium can fix about anything even if its bad enough most people would think its trash.

Several people suggested millineum including my local independent shop who had just recieved a zuki 600 upper case/cyl from them.
Now THAT was a job! The upper case-half,,,IS the cylinder section. No bolt on iron cylinders like the old days. Disassembly of the case required and ship the upper half to be plated. Told me "people don't understand why it's costs $3k to rebuild a sport bike
engine"... It was in a thousand pieces.

YIKES! I think Antoine Dodson once spoke about that shipping price!

Yeah, their shipping isn't cheap. However, it cost $34 for the Honda CR250 cylinder I shipped out a few weeks ago to them using USPS. Shipping costs have gone way up everywhere.

I'm sure proximity makes a difference. I'm shipping from Tucson, AZ. Plus, it was a complete assembled cylinder with head and powervalves. It went in for a 265 big bore.

Twinsig , that is some pretty work. Is that your KDX cylinder? Why is it copper colored on the exterior?

Optical illusion I guess prob from the counter top reflection.
And yes, SHIPPING has increased!
I suspect insurance?
I paid about that shipping to them w/$500 in coverage. So 3 bills is more like it, plus wossner piston, plus oem gaskets, plus a few misc supplies.
$600+ when finished.

I just had Millinium replate my cylinder mine was pretty much like yours there, Kawasaki uses machined slag for their plating Ive had to replate every one ive had. It will come back much better than new even a little bit beautiful i might say I hated to use it it was so pretty!!! They charged me 290 for a little welding and replating yors looks pretty much the same as mine, On the brighter side it should last many years to come.
