KLX vs KX triple clamp?

Can anyone tell me which lower clamp does a better job making contact with the frame stop? Pictured is the KLX triple, which does make contact, but not by much. Does the 91-93, 43mm, KX500 triple clamp make better contact with the frame stop? The stock kdx lower clamp hits a few millimeters up, which seems preferable. The stock kdx triple is pictured for reference.

Not sure off hand, but a competent welder can extend the steering stops quite easily to accommodate either.

Not sure I would bother. Looks like pretty good contact to me. As long as it hits the stop before the forks hit the tank.

Member treelimb has KLX300R forks and stock KLX300R triple clamps on his 1997 KDX200. The tubes slightly hit the tank.

My '01 KX Forks slightly hit also. I drilled the stop and put in an aluminum screw so the stop hit the screw head. Guess I've crashed too hard cause the screw head got smushed and they hit slightly now. I decided it wasn't enough to worry about.
