Picked up this hoopty

98 kdx200. Probably make a hybrid out of it. I have an 03 kx125 with a worn jug I may use. Haven’t had a bike in about 12 years. Compression reads 175psi which was a surprise. Had a torn reed cage gasket, once I fixed that it ran waaaaaaaaaay rich with a 165 main, and a 55 pilot. Put in a 40 pilot and 150 main ran a lot better but then we got snow so it’s in the garage for the next six months.

Not as bad as some I have seen! Good luck on it however you decide to go.

Nice. What’s up with the two tone frame? Spray paint? That one radiator looks like it’s about to tap out.

Yup he bombed the plastics and some of the frame with spray paint. Both rads are pretty shot but don’t leak and actually aren’t bent. If I spend some time making the fins straight they will work.

I think I am going to ride this for a season and get it running the way I want. Then when I build the hybrid I’ll just have to pretty it up with some cerakote and go.
