Hello, I just brought a 93 kdx250sr with only 1500k,s on her!!! I have looked at a few other posts which have been very very helpful. When I brought the bike and fired her up it sounded terrible. So now it's in pieces getting a kx250 rod and piston. Also found rust on the gearbox bearings!!!! And someone previously had put two stroke oil in the overflow bottle and piston got hot and wrecked it and little end. Good looking bike though, itching to ride her :supz:

Ouch, 2T oil in the coolant overflow? We never got the SR model here in the states, but there are a bunch of them running around down under. Welcome to the group and congrats on the new bike

I have found out that one company imported some down here in the 90's. This one was bought then left in a shed because they didn't know what jetting was😂. Or where to put the oil even ha ha. I am fixing it for a weekend bush bike. Is it true these gearbox with stock sprockets will do 160? We have gravel roads between tracks where it would be handy( mates run 525exc)

Welcome to the forum. Make sure you've got a GoPro mounted on you helmet when you get that bike up to that reported 160. Would love to see that video!

😂 cheers dude will do. That would be sad if it wouldn't do at least 120kph, the 96 klr250 hits 125…... maybe aim a bit lower then 😁I will post when I get her put together

Wait. I was thinking 200. My bad! I am not sure on an SR 250. Surely a bit more than 70 miles per hour
