Hey guys, I just bought a super clean 1999 KDX 220R from a person on Facebook marketplace. Got it for $1100 which came with new set of tires, helmet, o-ring chain, and an FMF Turbinecore 2 (the guy had the stock silencer on when I bought it). It has an FMF Fatty pipe with a PWK 35mm carb instead of the stock 33mm from what I understand and starts on first kick. I'm super excited to start riding as I am just getting into dirtbikes. The bike does have a little oil leak though. Thought it was the shift shaft seal so I went ahead and replaced the old seal but it is still dripping oil very slowly. Come to find out that it is coming from the counter shaft above, so I ordered the 2 o-rings, collar, oil seal, new front sprocket, and snap ring to fix it. Will do this weekend and we'll see if it takes care of the problem...

Well, damn. If you already know to replace the correct parts on the output shaft, then I guess that only leaves us to say:
Welcome to kdxrider.net, and congratulations on the nice looking KDX!
WOOO HOO!!

Very nice. Good deal. You should check on the piston, the oem ones are infamous for grenading

Doggone that is a nice looking KDX!!!! hey man that was a great deal too. welcome to the site! I'm digging the handlebars. I've been pondering changing over to bars like that. I also appreciate the original trip meter being on there. I use mine every ride.
My input/ recommendations are:
1) skid plate
2) hand guards
3) water pump guard (actually comes with devol skid plate-mine did.)
Right on man. Ride on.

Welcome to the club! Great deal on the bike as well. I've noticed the KDX doesn't get the respect it deserves out here in CA, but hey, better for us the buyer! I am in the North Bay, so let me know if you ever want to ride. Despite the drive, I normally opt for Forest Hill. During red season Carnegie for a quick ride, but I don't always enjoy the constant hill climbs. Anyhow, enjoy your new bike!
