My '80 KDX400 has dual rear shocks. ??

1979 / 1980 KDX400 and 1980 KDX250 had two shocks.

Interesting that the bigger bikes stayed with the dual shocks, and the little bike got the monoshock.

Sorry to stray off topic, but does your 1980 KDX400 have a VIN? If so, what is the first digit? Thank you.

First digit of my VIN is D. DX400, etc. Thank YOU.

OK. That lets me know. It is not actually a VIN. Maybe they got started in 1981 with the VINs.
