Anyway, what is a recommended range for woods riding? How low can you go?

How rocky is it?

Normal tube?

Heavy duty?

ultra heavy duty?

Don't know about the tube. Not a lot of rock, but some. Southwest Ohio. I ran 11lbs last season. Let's assume it's a regular tube.

I woods ride in loomy soil with less than moderate rocks in southern VA on both regular and heavy duty tubes and I'll ride 12psi front and rear at the most on dry pact and 9psi front and rear at the least in muddy conditions.

Really depends on a lot of factors. Some already mentioned, the tube type and riding conditions. Also the type of tire, some desert tires with stiffer sidewalls you can run lower psi than a light sidewall tire. Last year I ran Dunlop Geomax MX51s. Over in the desert I ran them at 15 psi mainly to prevent pinch flats. Here in the PNW, wet, roots, mix of mud and loam, I usually run about 10 psi. This year I'm contemplating going to a Tubliss system-they claim you can run down in the single digit range. If the bike is stock, you're not racing, and don't know what tubes are in I'd say 10-14 psi would be a reasonable starting point.

I'm running mine at 9 F&or for an Enduro in SC this weekend. I don't think I've ever gone over 12 even in the rocky NC mins. But then I'm pretty slow.

I am going to the Tubliss system with my new tires. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Around here, mix of clay, shale, mud dust and rocks (pretty much everything) I run 14f so I don't get pinch flats from the rocks and 10r so I can still get rear grip on hills, works for me.

I run a kenda equilibrium (flexy sidewalls) w heavy tube at 8psi all day long on my 98 200. trails & singletrack. nothing too fast. don't like wheelspin. used to have kx250 w mx tire run at 6-8 psi. never had any problems w either. lower pressure better traction. can always add 2nd rim lock if your worried. the faster you go I would air up to avoid pinch flats.
