Trans oil turning black

I've been noticing when I change my trans oil it only stays red for half a ride maybe then turns black. I'm running a tusk clutch kit with steel plates. There is also a little "glitter" in the pan when I drain it, there aren't any chunks or shavings just a light shimmer to it.

About how many hours is a 1/2 a ride?
Are you a light,medium or heavy clutch user?

I usually get about 7 hours of actual riding in, I would say I'm a medium clutch user I don't over use it keeping the rpms up but if I need it for a big climb I might stab it a few times.
I think the first time I noticed it was just riding around the yard breaking the new cylinder-in. Maybe 15-25min heat cycles.
