Hi everyone i have a quick question. I just bought a kdx250 and i was wondering if anyone could help me to adjust the clutch. It feels like it doesnt want to engage wheen i let the lever out

Not to overlook the obvious, have you played with either the in-line or lever barrel-adjusters?

Also, one reason you aren't getting any response is because this is the forum for those who are doing fork conversions for their KDX's

Yes i did plaY with both adjusters andnthat is when it became laggy

Okay i have put everything back the way it originally was. I changed the oil and now the damn clutch wont disengage at all. Help me please. Also if someone knows where i can get a service manual for a 1983 kdx250, i would really ne thankful.

A lot of the time, if the bike was sitting (especially with old oil) the clutch plates will swell or stick together, and just some run time will break them lose.

Otherwise, you'll have to pull off the clutch cover, and take a look at the plates.

I took the clutch cover off and looked at the plates. They
ooked brand new. But someth7ng was making them stick when 7 pulled the clutch in. So i cleaned all them with a dry rag, just blotting whatev3r it was on them. I changed the oil again, and still have same result. I will try riding it a little in the morning and see if that helps at all.

I did pull the cover off again to look at the plates, and it looks lie there is something causing the plates to stick together for sme reason. I think it may be from when i changed the oil, i put a small amount of lucas oil treatment in with the oil and it caused it to jelly a bit.
