Just talked to the company that use to set up my quad suspension, he said they may be able to convert the front kdx220 forks to piston instead of spring. Has anyone done it? With what results? Thanks for the input!

I'm not sure what you mean by converting from spring to piston. The forks do have a spring and also a piston which controls the rebound damping via shims and orifices. There is no compression adjustment. Maybe you mean installing some type of adjustable compression piston. Maybe someone else knows.

Yea, he just meant replacing the piston. I called back and got someone who actually works on shocks and asked him how it was done and he said the kid up front is new and assured me they don't let him touch anything  Has anyone used the works piston?

I used the racetek goldvalve along with the proper springs for my weight and thought it was a good improvement, on my 200. Others on here have modified the shimstack and swear by that. Do a search for shim stack and you'll find it. I just bought a set of the fork valves for a 09 crf 150 thay are a bolt in part. Greenmantis on this forum had them recommended to him buy his mechanic. I have not tried them yet, they were cheap compared to gold valves, so I thought I would give them a try, on my 220. Looks like I'll have to wait a few weeks before I try them as I had my appendix taken out last weekend. I'm 57 and my appendix gave it up yuk!

Awe man sorry to hear about the appendix! Yea a local guy is going to work me a deal. He's a race tech dist. Gonna do front and rear re spring re valve and rebuild for right around $600. It would be a little cheaper if I didn't need them to race by Sunday. I almost snagged a nice used set on eBay but figured there wouldn't be enough time to get them here, sprung, and swapped. Especially working 3pm to 9am, god I hate night shift :toimonster:
