Push in slow jets on PWK? I'm lost

Post by jsjamboree »

So I'm trying to size up my slow jet and what I found I can't explain. Every parts fiche, pic, and jetsrus shows a screw in slow jet. Mine was push in, like really $#@&ing pushed in. Pretty much destroyed it getting it out. I have a backup carb and it's the same. Is there something I'm missing?

That's not the pilot jet! It's part of the carb body that I, quite frankly, didn't even know was separable.

The pilot jet is deep inside that hole just to the right of the main jet passage in your second picture. It requires a narrow flathead screwdriver to pull out.

The pilot/slow jet is the one on the right in this picture. The main jet (middle) would have screwed into the part you removed.

Looking closer, Im pretty sure that the part he removed is the choke pickup

You guys are right, and I feel like an idiot. One second back at the carb and I saw the real pilot jet. In my defense I've only ever had old mikuni round slides... I've never seen a choke pickup like this. I'm guessing this will never go back together again. Good thing it was a spare
