I want more bottom end

I just picked up a '93 model 200 with an FMF pipe on it. It has a hell of a mid range hit. I'd rather sacrifice some of that for more bottom end. I'm wondering if carb changes would have that effect.
-PWK35
-48 pilot
-150 main....(Illinois, 600ft above sea level)
-1172 needle....clip came in the 2nd groove from the bottom.
What direction should I go?
I haven't checked the reeds yet........assuming they are OK.

Exhaust torque ring would do the job, not sure what they cost.

What is that? A restrictor? Where does it go?

Seems like a big pilot jet. If I put the clip in the middle position maybe it'll lean out the bottom mixture and ignite better.

The E series KDX engine has a ridiculous amount of bottom end torque and a very minimal midrange hit. Have you checked to be sure that your powervalves are functioning properly?

the powerband is 90% due to the expansion chamber design

I just checked my reeds. They are all intact. But the bottom ones show a one millimeter gap . They arent sittting flush like the ones on the top. Is that normal?

No, they should not have a gap.

the bigger the gap, the more power you lose at low RPM

This is an old thread. I'm happy to report that my reeds now seal perfectly (new) and the bottom end is great. Got new Kips valves, too.
