Hi, can anyone explain how the standard 1988 KDX200 C3 ignition system should work?
My bike has a non standard system fitted, combining the ign coil and CDI and I'm not sure how it's even working!
Thinking of going back to the standard system.
Does the standard system have a 2 stage source coil with the pick up mounted on top?

the KDX200 uses a single stator coil with two wires goiing to the CDI.
it serves as voltage generator (both positive and negative) and timing trigger.
