Does anyone know what it costs to have a set of rims strung? Just curious. If I ever get the money and balls to spend the money on a new set of rims, spokes and hubs. I just like the looks, don't know if I would ever actually need them or not. Guess if I ever bend a rim hugh.

$50-$75 per rim to lace and true. Lacing is easy...truing is-----time consuming.

You can pick up a nice Excel wheel/talon hub all laced up for around $600. Don't forget to add the $100 or so for the brake rotor and another $20 to $80 for the sprocket on the rear.

Typically Excel rims run around $120 give or take. Spoke sets are around $75. So your looking at about $250 to put a new Excel (including lace and true labor) onto an OEM hub. I think Pro Wheel rims are around $20 or so less than the Excel's.

OK. Time, I have alot of time. When truing rims, I take it that you have to tighten a certain spoke at a time using a spoke torque rench. Sounds challenging. thanks for the info.
