I know the models outside Japan have a VIN number that has an easy breakdown to figure out the year, but our frame numbers here are much different than the export models and can't find anything as to figuring out the actual year, it is not even on the ownership or registration paperwork. I assumed it was an 89 after seeing some pictures of others, but now I am still wondering as I have seen a few model years air cooled and water cooled with the same color scheme. Frame/engine number is DX200G-006092 Also I found a decal elsewhere that shows KDX200-G1.

On my phone so can't help much, but check out one of my earlier threads (one of the first) about IDing the year. Our bikes only have frame numbers apparently. I think 6 Riders gave me an answer regarding the year (1992 with inverted forks... Before they came on the US models, only 94-95). Someone will probably be able to tell you the year.

Thanks man, I am thinking mine is a G series as well since the -G1 under the frame number on the decal, but mine is definitely an earlier model than yours I think with the standard forks basic decals and chopped looking hand guards.

Beer!, it is 1989, 1990 G model frame numbers start at 015000.

Is yours "Ebony" or lime green?

OK just googled it, yes, mine is definitely not ebony.

So just to confirm, that makes mine an F series?

beer, yours is a "G", which was not sold in the USA, as we just got the E, "F" and "G" were sold in other countries.
