I'm rebuilding a 2000 kx250 and I need a new set of forks. I can get a set of 01 yz250 forks cheap. Are those forks open bath style or are they twin chamber? My stock kx forks have the rubber bladders in them I guess as an attempt at a twin chamber. Also does anyone know of another brand or year of firms that'll fit the 1999-2001 kx triple clamps?

They are open cartridge. 2005 was the first KYB twin chamber style.

My forks have a broken axle clamp bolt that I can't drill out otherwise I wouldn't need them. I found a set of 2000 kx forks on ebay for $100 so I may just get those and build one good set from the two. Thanks!

Fork spring length is shorter in the YZ forks of that year, so if you already spent money on the correct springs, that might be a point.

Look up electrical pulse ...something...sorry it is late :)

it eats away at a bolt inside a hole

I found a set of stock 2000 kx250 forks for $70 on ebay so I bought those. I'll use the best parts from both sets to make a good set. I hope I'm lucky like the time I bought a set of 97 rm250 forks for my RM and when I took them apart they had complete gold valves, stiffer springs, and a lighter air chamber spring! All for $100 lol. I can dream I guess :)

Got my 2000 kx forks in and they look brand new lol. I'm batting .1000 as far as ebay fork purchases. Has stiffer springs, so it's probably closer to my 200 pound weight. All this trouble over a broken axle pinch bolt. I'm just $70 in the hole though. Thanks for the replies, folks!
