The piston for the front brake caliper on the 89 200 has been discontinued. Its a single piston setup. Is there another piston from another model that fits.?

Have you considered buying a used caliper from someone here or eBay?

Yeh . But I would rather rebuild the old one then it will be good as new. If I buy a used one the piston could be pitted and I'll be back to square one. IT is an option though.

43048-1010 was on 1986 - 1990 KDX200. It is canceled. The number superseeded to 43048-1056. It is also canceled. It came on:

KDX200-E3 (KDX200) (1991)
KX125-B2 (KX125) (1983)
KX125-C1 (KX125) (1984)
KX125-D1 (KX125) (1985)
KX125-E1 (KX125) (1986)
KX250-C1 (KX250) (1983)
KX250-C2 (KX250) (1984)
KX250-D1 (KX250) (1985)
KX250-D2 (KX250) (1986)
KX500-A1 (KX500) (1983)
KX500-A2 (KX500) (1984)
KX500-B1 (KX500) (1985)
KX500-B2 (KX500) (1986)

I hope that helps.

+1 on getting a used caliper, just message the seller about the piston's condition

I kinda doubt a seller would know the condition of the inside of the piston. :hmm:

Stupid how you guys are even closer then the USA, but prices are indeed about 2x. I looked at some AUS online dealer for 2008 KX125 parts. The parts that were the same as 2005 KX125 (last KX125 sold in the USA) were about 2x.

Just ridiculous.

thats why i get my parts from the USA .its cheaper ,easier and most of the time quicker .i wouldnt mind paying a little extra say 15 or 20% to shop local but not two or three times the price .

Hey all, just joined this sight. Seems like an awesome KDX sight. I recently purchased a 94 KDX 200. Love the bike ever since Kawasaki came out with them. I ran into a problem trying to replace the brake pads. Ordered some off eBay and when I got them I found out they were different from mine on the front. After doing some research I found that the front caliper/front end is different than stock. The caliper is a single piston and it has conventional forks. There are washers between the caliper and the fork mount. Is this standard? How do I find out what year the front end is? Thanks!

It shouldn't have washers . They may be in there to correct the disc offset If the wheeel is mismatched to the caliper . The caliper is probably of an earlier model . I think they went to the twin piston brake when they switched to USD forks and then stayed twin piston when the forks went back to conventional
you probably need some 89 model pads . Easy way to confirm is looking on the parts fiche and comparing the drawing to what you have
