I have a 1985 KDX80. My gf is gonna use it as a learner bike. She is 5'8". Any way to change the bike's dimensions to fit her a little better? Higher bars, bigger rims, suspension changes? Thanks!

You might try:
re-do the seat with taller foam
stiffer springs to hold rider weight higher up
bar risers / taller bars
Otherwise, let her learn with the sure footing that being 5' 8" on a little bike gives.

Ok thanks. Yeah, the sure footing is def a good thing. I'm considering lacing some new rims to the hubs anyways. Anyone know if I can go up in size on front and/or rear wheel?

I would think that with the same travel, you are just going to shove the tires into the fenders.
Look for a KLX140L or something closer to her leg length.

Will stiffer springa reduce travel? Thus leaving open the possibilty for stiffer springs + larger rims?
