New here. Just picked up a 2000 KDX200 so I can ride trails with my 2 younger sons.

I bought them non-running TTR's last year and fixed them up over the winter. A 90 for the 9 yr old and a 125 for the 11 yr old. Thought it might be useful if Dad had a bike too.

Excited to get riding. Excited to be here and learn all I can.

I'm a street rider with nearly 30 yrs experience, all tarmac and all 4 strokes....so there is going to be a learning curve for all this dirt and 2 stroke stuff.

Dave.

Welcome! Great way to get the kids out from in front of the TV and computers. My dad started my brother and I when we were 6 and 5, and I followed suit with my sons. Not long ago we had an awesome 3 generation ride (Dad is 72 and still riding and a KDX no less!) Those are days for the scrapbook! Those TTRs should work for your boys for a couple years before they outgrow them.

Sounds like your gonna have good times.

A lot of good useful info is here. I know what your talking about going from street and four stroke to 2. Let me tell you its a lot cheaper. A 2 stroke is challenging for me but I like it a lot more then a four stroke. Raced ninjas when younger and rode a lot on street I actually feel safer on the trail. The only idiot I run into is myself.

Welcome!
