Shock bearing question

I removed the rear shock from my 00 200 so that I can put on a new spring which should arrive tomorrow. Dumb question, but I have to ask....is there not a bearing in the upper shock?? I looked in the manual and the parts fiche and was expecting to see one, but it appears to be some type of bushing instead. Just want to make sure I am looking at this right. When I pulled the shock out I was thinking, great...the bearings are seized up. That's what started me hunting for new bearings.
Thanks.

I think you are right - no bearing there. I just pulled my shock recently for rebuild, and that is what I see.

No upper bearing for my 97. Lower yes. Never saw a kit stating a rebuild for the top shock mount

Pivotworks shock bearing kit has a top bushing and a lower bearing.
1989 - 2006 full sized KDX shocks have a top bushing.
