Listen to this.....just picked this bike up on craigslist. The guy said it had been sitting a couple years out under his tree stand and when he tried to start it the bike had no spark... so i went and checked it out and looked it over and everything was there. I swindled him down from $200 to $120 bucks man!! so i figured whatever its only 120 for the bike i could part it out for that much if its a boat anchor.

I took the bike home and tried to get it running. Checked the spark and it dint have any. put fresh fuel in and nothing happened. So i look in the air box and holy **** i found to rats living in there and the expression RATS NEST doesn't even describe it. Full of feces and hair and nuts and whatnot.... got those suckers out and the filter was totally destroyed and eaten by those lil bastards. All of the rat poop was down in the carb and reeds, probably in the motor... but oh well..

Cleaned the carb and soaked it. Took the reed cage out. I could see the piston and it looked real new. Then cleaned all the **** out then connected it all together without the air box and checked for spark.... and guess what it has tons of compression now!!!! and spark.... sweet right? So i turn the gas on and choked the carb, kicked it and started on the 5th kick. Fricken Sicccckk!!! Let it run for about 5 mins and played with the carb a little and this bike purrrs baby..

Now im going to fix it all up and get the woods basher going.

ok guys i think i figured out how to upload a video the quality isn't the best and audio sucks but this is when i got it running right after i got it home.

Ok.... im getting better at uploading this stuff... Once I got the bike up and running i imediately started taking everything apart. I striped the frame with industrial grade stuff from sherwin williams i can figure the name if u guys want me to... anyway i got the frame stripped, power washed it and put more stripper on it a few more times then painted the frame which was originally black... and i think it turned out pretty good.





Painted the pipe with some barbecue paint from walmart... hope it holds up..

Man you waste no time at all! I would have had to drop it in gear atleast once. Congrats! Thats one sweet deal!

i lied i ran it through all the gears up in down the street shifts good

I've used the hight heat paint on a PW80 and a klx110 with good success. Best part is touch ups are cheap and easy. Nice work and good to see an air cooled bike be brought back to life.

All i need now is a chain roller, seal savers, front rim cuz it is bent a little, might be able to true the rim anyone know a good front tire to run here in new England oh and put the rear tire on. Why is it so hard to change the tires

Got the swingarm on, i sanded the marks and dings out of it, also the bearings were decent so im just going to run em and the shock and link is good also.



This is the tire that came with the bike... its has ok tread left so im gonna use it.



Painting the engine black with high heat paint... The motor looked terrible before so the paint put some life back in it, purely cosmetic.

Holy crap! You're making me feel like a slacker. Do you have some sort of sleep disorder and while we are sawing logs you're out in the garage?

Love the complete gasket set. It looks like it had about 5 parts. lol

How did the engine look while you had it apart?

Piston might be bored over not sure how do i tell. Its in good shape. And in the winter works slow so i get time to do this.

Yea these aircooled non powervalve engines are sick real simple and easy to work on. Its all i need you know. Those liquid engines are nice but these are too cool man

Question guys. The bike has no upper motor mount where a bracket bolts onto the head, there is two on the bottom part of the motor. How crucial is it to have them, will the motor vibrate too much without them?
