Howdy. I just made a donation to the site, but I still can't post pics to my gallery. I plan to donate once a month to help out with what i can. This site is worth ten bucks at least a month guys! Donate what you can, no matter how small the amount, I'm sure it'll help out! This is good stuff on this here site. How much do I need to donate to unlock the ability to post pics and such? Thanks!

from the looks of it Jason hasn't gotten round to update your status, he does this on the side so it may take a day or two
once he has your status updated to reflect your donation level you may find yourself able to post pictures

I guess I need to update that. Any supporting member status will grant you access to your own gallery. You can in fact use your gallery as a kind of image host, if you upload pics to your gallery and then use the bbcode to link those gallery images to your post. Directly attaching images/files to posts is reserved for gold/platinum members. Thanks for your support, and enjoy the new features! Let me know if you have any questions.

I definitely try to get to all the donation updates within 24 hours. There aren't too many of them, so that's not the issue, lol. Between work and my kids and my house and my farm, I sometimes struggle to keep up with this stuff. Thank you guys for supporting the site, and I hope you enjoy the new features you have access to. To some it may seem silly to require a donation for that stuff, but it's all in an effort to keep ads off the site. We have to pay the bills somehow!

Yes, please no ads....please.

Gonna be tough to keep it that way. I'm limping the site along now on affordable shared hosting, but it's taken a lot of work and time to keep it optimized enough to keep the host from shutting us down. If we gain much more activity, moving to a dedicated hosting solution is going to be necessary if we want to keep usable performance. Probably within 6 - 12 months we're going to have to make that switch, and it will increase the cost of hosting the site about 4 or 5 times what it is today. The average amount of current donations barely covers the cost of our current solution. I have been considering using google ads, and only displaying ads to non-supporting members. So once you make your donation, the site is ad-free. Sound unreasonable? Not sure if that would really generate enough revenue to make up the difference, but it would surely be better than nothing....
