2007 RMZ250 or 2005 KXF250

Hi

I am tossing up which fork setup to use. A bike dismantler has both the 2007 RMZ and the KXF forks and triple clamps available, and both are the same price.

The RMZ fork are Showa's I believe and reviews of the RMZ reckon they are a bit on the soft side for MX, so maybe suited to trail without revalving? The KXF on the other hand may be a little harsh (I'm 6'4 and 85kgs)

It seems from what I have read the KXF is a relatively straight forward swap so it would be logical to go with them.

Has anyone done a swap with the RMZ Showas?

Is the difference in the forks not really that great and I should go with the KXF (thats what my gut is telling me)? :hmm:

Do they include the brake caliper and front wheel? Where abouts are you? I had Tjebbe Bruin (Bruin Engineering) revalve my conventional forks and i can't fault them.

every fork swap can be different,
for instance I have read on here that someone fitted the kxf forks without having to get knurling done, yet I have fitted the 48mm 2005 forks, I had to have my kdx stem knurled, plus a spacer made.
so either way both conversions could be the same amount of work.
no big deal if you have a good machine shop near by.
best regards
