just saying hi. i recently bought a 01 kdx 220. its my first 2stroke. its got an aftermarket pipe on it, i dont know what kind, their no labels/stickers on it. its got a big midrange hit, the bottoms a bit sleepy but mabye this is normal for a 2stroke. its alot faster and not as torquey as my old xr400 which was heavily modded.

Welcome to the site. Keep the comparisons to an XR200R or XR250R.
But seriously, if you can post some pictures, we may be able to help you identify the pipe.

Off an xr400, the KDX may feel like it's considerably down on torque in comparison. I'm sure it also feels light, nimble, and fast. KDX's are known for their bottom end torque, but that's in comparison to the average 2t, not a larger bore 4t.
Yeah, like Jason said, if you'll share a pic someone can surely identify the pipe. There's weren't a whole lot of options for KDX aftermarket pipes.
