Hello from Colorado!

My name's Erik, I'm a military dude and I live in Colorado Springs.

I've been riding a 2000 DRZ400E but I want something lighter and a bit more managable. I stumbled across marrk_us' CR125/KDX 220 thread and it looks like when the DRZ sells, that's most likely the direction I'll pursue.

I was looking at a KTM 250 or 300 but I enjoy turning a wrench so I feel a bit better about building my own bike. The only advantage I was giving the KTM was the hydraulic clutch, which means a lot to me after the DRZ but that's something I'm willing to spend the extra money on to do to the CR/KDX.

Anyways, keep the rubber down!

Welcome to KDXRIDER! Good choice on the hybrid. Feel free to start a thread in our hybrid section with your ideas. We have a lot of members who have done this and can provide input. You have several options regarding frame and engine. A steel framed KX is quite a different bike than an aluminum framed CR. A 220 engine is a different animal than a 200. It's important to consider what you will be doing with the bike, and what you expect from it. Just some food for thought...

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Once I get more of an idea of what I want to do I'll post up something in the Hybrid thread. The name of the game will be low weight and potential for the future, like the ability to uncork the 220, HS considerations, etc.

Out of curiosity, when can I send a PM? Or should I not be such a cheapo and send more money?
