Does anyone know if the internal diameter of the clamps on the 2002 and 2003 KX 125's are the same? I have '02 forks but would like to put the '03 clamps on so I can get rid of my rigged brackets to mount my '03 number plate. Hmm.. bar clamp offset may be different too. Anyways, any info would be great, I've searched around everywhere and couldn't find any answers.

If no one knows I will measure either the internal diameter of the clamp or the circumference of the fork tube and post it up here.

I have read a post on another forum that they are the same. I have not measured them to see.

I know for certain that the offset is different between 2002 and 2003 - 2008 KX125 / KX250. Here is some info from dirtrider.com (the magazine):

I have a 2005 KX250, so if you want to measure your forks outer diameter, please post it. I have a set of 2007 KX250 forks (same outer diameter) that are not on the bike right now, so I can measure those if need be.

Internal diameter of clamp is either 55 or 56mm on the 2002 kx 125 (I need better measuring tools, haha)

Can you measure the outer diameter of the tubes and mention where at on the tube, as in inches down from the top? Inner clamp diameter can change with the tightening of the bolts.

Ok, I'll get that tomorrow, my measurement was with the clamp off of the bike. I just bought a used 2004 KX250F triple tree from ebay, only $30 if it doesn't fit oh well. Item is coming from MA so I should get it in the mail this week.

Yes they interchange.
I am using '04 KXF250f triples on my '02 KX chassis for the same reason: newer fender and number plate mounting. The rake may be different so you need to change top and bottom as a set.

The 04 250f bottom clamps fit. The top are way too small for the 02 forks. Oh well.

What is the outer diameter of the 2002 fork tubes?

I have my stock forks off my 2005 KX250, so I can measure them, if need be.

That is strange. As I mentioned, I am using what were sold to me as '04 KX250f triples on my '02 KX125 chassis and they were a direct bolt-on.
It almost sounds like you got a mis-matched set of triples.

I'll get pics up, bottom clamp is silver but someone painted it black, the upper is a bronze type color.

The top looks like a 2006 - 2007 KX250 clamp. They were brown. I can't remember on the four strokes, if they were brown, too.

The front numberplate bolt / mounting style looks like the style on my 2005 KX250.

My 2005 KX250 fork is about 56mm at the upper clamp mounting area, and about 59.2mm at the lower clamp mounting area.

So I guess I got an '06 triple clamp setup. At least I can return it in person and not pay shipping.

03-05 is what I need for the top triple clamp to fit I'm assuming? '06 up has a smaller upper clamp?

2006 - 2007 KX250 two-stroke is brown on top and bottom.

Whatever you have for a bottom clamp is not the same as a 2006 - 2007 KX250.

2003 - 2008 KX125, 2003 - 2008 KX250, 2004 - 2005 KX250F and 2004 - 2006 Suzuki RM-Z250 are the same dimensions.

2002 KX125 / KX250 is its own unique dimensions / offset.
