Trying to remove the governor and water pump shaft bearings from the right side case half. As those of you that have torn into them, they are mounted in blind holes. So, what did you guys use to get them out with?

I made a hook type thing out of a 1/4" bolt about 3" long. I put the bolt in a drill press to make a poor man's lathe and used a grinder to turn the head down so there was just enough lip left to catch the bearing then ground three sides down enough so it could get in the center of the race. Then I used a slide hammer on the hook type thing and poped it out.
Someone in the past had talked about heating the case with a propane torch then tapping on the housing until it fell out. I have never tried this but there is no reason it shouldn't work as long as the bearing isn't in too tight.

Just heat the case around the bearing and tap the backside it'll fall right out.

I recently had to replace the kips actuator bearing. I tried heating, I tried freezing, freezing then heating, always tapping on back side.
Nothing worked on this one. I tried packing with grease but the back side of the bearing is not sealed so that didn't work.
I ended up wedging a bolt in that I could hit with a slide hammer. It moved enough to allow a hooked screwdriver behind it and I worked it out. I have a blind bearing puller but I don't have an adapter small enough to fit this bearing.
Good Luck. I hope yours is easier to get out.
