could this just be old. went out for a breakin after the top emd rebuild.. bike revss something nasty in the first ten minutes. i start to head back home and she stalls. thoughti ran outta gas. starts up then stalls. when i got back to shop i took apart carb. well well my needle jet snapped.. wtf. sooo what happen?

Probably was bent at some point in time and just finally gave up.

Replaced needle jet / float / pin / she's alive!

stop the insanity. i have replaced floats/pin/152/42/needle jet/petcock. it's barely running but surging...i did notice the slide kinda sticks. should i try replacing that tooooooo. c'mon. the bike was screaming at times. i can't even keep it idling properly to check for airleaks. it runs a little better at first but as it gets warmed up it fails me. all of this troubleshooting has been a great experience but i'm at a loss. new slide and spring throttle or new carb????????

i am no expert but i held a light behind the disasembled carb with a closed valve and saw light on either side. there are these teeny indents on the valve and no im not talking about the cut-outs. it is visible and to the touch. is this right. its stock but could this realy be the friggen stock if you know what i mean. there is scoring on the valve and the interior mating surface.
