I remember using a 91 KX 250 cdi on a 91 American DX 250. It had slightly different power delivery, but was barely noticeable. In fact, I'm not sure it wasn't our imagination that it was any different. It started and ran fine. I've used various 2 stroke cdi boxes on other brands. You just have to make very sure to create excellent low resistance connections if you need to cut wires.
