Has anyone ridden both models and compared them? I was reading the other day that the 03-05 was smaller, and better suited for someone under 5'10". The same article mentioned the 99-02 was better suited for riders of all sizes.

Has anyone noticed this? Is there a difference?

Exact same bike. The '03 and up had a silver frame.

I haven't ridden both to give you a direct comparison, but both the kx125 and 250 were completely redesigned for 2003. Slimmer chassis, new swingarm, new engine design, etc.

Right, being in the hybrid section I assumed he was talking about the KX's, not the KDX's.

the 03 (and up i believe) have a different steering rake more wood friendly.

I believe that 2003 125s were kind of a one-year deal with regards to the rear suspension. The linkage changed for '04-'05. You can tell the difference from a distance by the swingarm: '03s have a solid swingarm from pivot to axle, and the '04-'05s have a black plug covering an access hole in the swingarm for one of the linkage bolts.

Good to know! Yep, i was talking about the kx. :)

I too had heard about the 03-05 being a little easier to turn, but i think that was done in triple clamps... Correct?

I was hoping someone had ridden the different bikes back to back :):)
