It was around 4:30 in the afternoon, and getting dark, so I think it was just going blurry and focussed from the dark to light areas

Something like that?

Carvr and I rode up there Saturday, 32miles and probably 20 of those miles was amazing singletrack. We only crossed another track like twice all day. I don't know what happ'd but I did not record a f'n thing??
I thought it did but the SD card was blank when I came home. Hopefully just operator error

Got it yesterday. Tried it the quality is very acceptable. The problem appears to be the camera moving from vibration, thus causing the image to appear blurred. I made the camera tight against a surface and it has minimal distortion. Now I am rigging it to my Melon Bucket to have minimal movement or vibration.

I used double sided tape and cable ties to attach mine. You can build layers of the tape up to get a camera good angle plus it works as cushioning/damping.

Like this....

Any more video guys? Mr Wibbs, Green hornet?
Mr Wibbs, have you solved the vibration problem?

Its not a problem for me

What is a problem for me is converting from AVI to MPEG, the video quality is there but the sound seems to always get out of sync. Just too much of a PITA to mess with it right now

Another problem, I tried going with an SD card from Crucial, worked great the first time out and now the camera won't power up with the SD installed. Pull it out and it works fine. Just ordered a new Sandisk card (recommended by O.S.)

The camera is working fine for me. The sound is low, but it does not matter to me. I used HD Double sided tape to assist with the mounting on the helmet(Thanks Trev). When the light level gets low the video gets grainy, but when there is light, the clarity is good enough for me. I have been testing Med Resolution @ 30fps & I get 1hr:45min out of it. I'll try to get some some vids up this week

Still testing this thing out, been using the medium res at 15 fps for increased play back time (230 min)

Downloaded version much mor pixelated than the originals, which are pretty clear

Why are the two so different?

The KDX one is too p'd to be of any use.

The DR one isn't bad.

Both are really hard to comprehend on my comp..... although one is worse than the other. Google responsible for that?

I wanna get a helmet cam but i think im gonna go with a 2 peicer, I love that guy on you tube who says that KDX are rare race tuned machines with 70hp or what ever these things dont even come from the factory with grease in the bearings but try and get your helmet cam to work. I love to watch kdx's in action. I also like canyncarvr making fun of that guy and the fact that guy is bickering over a video on youtube, immature but quite funny. Has there ever even been a KDX in the baja 1000?

Not too bad Wib, I think I wanna strap a camera to my helmet and rip through a gnarly swamp section, I've tried the camera and it looks pretty decent.

Still pretty pixelly compared to my camera setup.... was that 15fps?

Posted: 02:55 pm Feb 04 2007
by Mr. Wibbens
Originals are not pixelly at all

320 x 240 @ 15 fps is what I'm using, gives me 3 hrs 37 minutes of recording time (If I remember to change batteries)

I'm happy with it, quality is good enough for sharing and doesn't take as long to download on to the web. And editing does not take nearly as long as when using the higher res.

Your kdx is sounding so... smooth? Maybe it's just quiet.
