I use a card reader to transfer it to my drive for editing, uploading and storage as it is quicker than trying to do it directly from the unit even with USB v2.0.

USB 2.0 = 480 Mbits/s
Fast SCSI = 10 Mbytes/s
U/W SCSI = 40 Mbytes/s

I recorded at high res but putting it on youtube really degrades the quality

Not sure what to do about that

On my computer the images look almost as good as being there!

The sound is kinda iffy, not sure what is causing all the scratch's and pops

Sounds like you keep opening a fresh beer.

Second video is pretty good quality. Youtube sure does degrade things.

Speaking of degrading, view this:

My take on the Oregon camera...

Quality is decent enough and the price is right for a self contained unit.

Now the bad...

sound sucks... on Wibby's unit anyway.

I think I will keep my 2 piece unit for a while as the quality is higher, sound is good (stereo for TV viewing) and camera is smaller.

The only thing that sucks is that it is 2 pieces connected by a wire but Duct Tape works well to keep wires out of the way.

What's the point? Is HE really that stupid...or he thinks everyone ELSE is that stupid?

Well...maybe it's ME that's stupid. It IS a 'R' after all.

You have seen this, right:

Those 'guys in the forest'? That's on Johns Peak..right here in the sunny State of Jefferson.

The mic is on the bottom side of the unit, I think it may be contacting either my neck roll or my shoulder pads?

It records in AVI, I'd like to convert it to MPEG-1 but so far have had no luck finding a converter that works, actually the one I have may work ok on an AVI but it won't convert the snips I took using the windose movie maker . I still have a half hour left to find out, I'm converting 1.43gb AVI to MPEG
