Yeah its a pretty strong engine but the pilot jet still needs sorted out, it clears up after 1/4 throttle in first but its much better than it was since I changed it out. Its the last year for the air cooled kx250 and it looks almost identical to your engine but it has a center exit exhaust port so he would have to use a different year frame.

Yeah that would be pretty easy but it looks like a 2005 kx250 already has the frame set up for a center exit exhaust port so it would almost bolt right up if we used a frame somewhere around that year it looks like.

So I got the bottom end all put back together. Had alittle wear on clutch basket fingers but should b ok for a bit. I filed down the high spots to smooth it back out. I've seen worse steps smoothed. Ill keep an eye out for another. Anybody know what years baskets work with what year?
I should have the frames back from powder coat next week. I should have an engine all put back together and painted for it by then.

Sweet! Are you going to paint it silver?

The frame is gonna be mirror black so I'm thinking probably silver/grey. Not 100% yet though. To redo it black would make the pipe stick right out so I'm not sure yet.
Thanks I'm really looking forward to seeing it done as well.

Just picked up my frames from paint. They look great. Not as glossy as the last raven black I had done but I prefer it alittle less glossy anyway. Too bad I'm bringing them home in the rain.

I got the engine all stripped of the layers of old paint. It was thick and prob not helping cooling very much . I put 3 light coats of black engine paint. Then I filed the edges to brake up all the black.

Looks sweet! That's exactly how I would do it, then a little more wet sanding with some wd-40 on 600 then hit it with aluminum polish on a buffer.
Is that stator cover plastic?

Clean scuff paint. Repeat. basically it. I cleaned the front forks and brakes up yesterday look great no paint needed the tubes look good no marks. Going out today to clean wheels an other odd brackets. Hope the wheels clean up nice. The saying the last 20% takes 80% of the time well it's kinda true. Thanks for reading. Getting pretty excited myself. I'm not putting anything together until I have all my parts clean/painted ready. So I can lock myself in my barn for 6 hours and assemble it all. That will be a good party. Can't wait. How many beer job do u think that will be.

I got the wheels cleaned up. There was a lot of white over spray on them so a lot of scrubbing and the rear is ready to put on bike. I gotta mount the front tire still. I received my Swingarm bearings today so I'm gonna press them in tonight at work. Sorry no pic but its just a rear tire right.
