The solder nubbins are already there. Cut a piece of wire or better yet, use a single strand of wire out of a short piece of multi-stranded automotive wire. Place it directly across the two nubbins. If it's long enough to tape the ends to the body of the bulb, you won't have to hold it at all.

Heat your iron to the point solder readily melts when touched to the element..not a flux smokin' spattering hiss..just nicely melts. TOUCH one nubbin with the solder tip that has a bit of solder already melted on it until the the wire is joined to the nubbin..the same to the other.

Cut the wire that extends past the nubbins..you're done!

I used to carry an avionics module repair certification...soldered flatpack LSIs by hand..but you don't need to know that to do this! Give it a shot!

I guess i can give that a go... i'm sceered! Last time i soldered something i ended up with hot solder in my eyes. ... don't ask.

And i only scolded the n00b in the other thread because he came across like a jerk. It's all good now though

I bought one yesterday for 3,25$ canadian at an aftermarket quad/sled/motorcylce shop. I asked the guy for a part number and all he said was it`s a H6M base. He also mentioned that it was very common to this bulb in quads such as a kawi bayou.

And the KDX bulb 30/30 watt for $18.75

Was looking around, and for those who live in Canada, Motovan has a bunch of H6M and HS4 base bulbs in their ATV catalog. Ranging from $1.99 for 25W to $21.99 for Xenon 30W.

H6M and HS4 look to be similar in base design but different in bulb shape.

8.75$ is still too much if you ask me. I paid less than 4$ for a 35/35W bulb.
