Triumph Tiger Cub. Now those were great bikes... you had to have several (I did) so you could swap parts to the one that was running at any given time. Sure wish I hadn't sold the lot.

At age 18, I bought a brand new 1972 Suzuki TS185 as bike #1. Now at age 54 I just brought home the 54th bike - a new-old-stock 2005 KDX220. This one is only the second Kawasaki (1979 KDX400). I gotta keep the number of bikes greater than my age or I'll get old!

My first was a mini bike with a lawn mower engine, then a yamahe DT100 and then a 1980 KX80.

At age 13, I was the proud owner of a New 1981 KDX175A-2. Loved that bike.

My first dirt bike was a 1984 kdx 200. I picked it up for 500 bucks. This thing was probably in the worst shape it could possibly be in and still run. To say it was abused is a major understatement. I've only had this bike for about a month and a half now. I just kinda jumped in to the whole thing. Baptism by fire I guess you could say. After extensive hours searching for parts, info, etc. I stumbled on this site and on to Fredette Racing and learned about everything I needed to know about my 84' kdx 200. I am still learning the bike, but so far I love it and am glad to have it.

Oswego? That's way up there! - about 5 hours NW of here. Montgomery is just an hour north of NYC.

1976 Honda Z50. Auto clutch/3speed. It had handlebars that you could release where it connects to the triple clamp to make it compact. You could literally put the bike in the back of a car trunk easily - still standing upright.

First real bike was a yellow and black 1979 YZ 80 - Go Bob Hannah!!! The bike was aircooled but had a monoshock so I thought I was really hi tech then. All the kids in the block wanted to ride it. Fun times.

I had a 1985 ATC 250 Big Red and life was fine. Then my father bought a DT100 for my brother, and I fell in love with the new found freedom a bike provides over the ATV's. So I got a 1985 IT 200 as my first bike at 16. Now 38, after trying half the bikes in the world I still own and ride my second bike, a 1992 KDX 200

Can-Am . . . those were some bikes back them, Rotax and all - at least according to the magazine articles we used to read. We never actually saw one in person.

I remember them! If you could get it started... nothing would touch 'em!

1966 Bridgestone SR 90.
It would smoke anything it's size. Eventually I couldn't get parts for it, and got rid of it for a street bike.

Mine was a '78 Honda XL185 Enduro Does this qualify?

I had a blue and white Honda Mini Trail 50 that my bro and I went halves on. My dream bike was an XR75 that I never got. I didn't get another bike until I was out of school, a KX250.

i got a kelly green 1978 ke175.stripped it of road gear and put knobbys on it.also hand sanded the cylinder head on a large piece of glass with 400grit sand paper on top, to increse compression.it had a removable baffle muffler (no packing) which a cut in half.changed the port timming by cutting the rotary valve and removed the pump for the auto-lube system.rode it till there was nothing left in it.then i got a 78ktm390.
