Thanks for the part number. A quick search led me to quite a few hits. Not so funny is that when I was first searching for one, most of hits came back not compatible while the rest were out of stock for my bike. All the other parts, seal head, nut, and bladder were fairly easy to locate.

Yeah, trying to find KDX shock parts by what someone on eBay or Amazon "SAYS" will fit is probably not the way to go. I never trust any seller on all that.

Since there was no guarantee on when the back order would be filled or shipped, I canceled my order with TT store for the Facotry Connection bump stop. I ordered a KYB off ebay with the part number you provide, which was also half the price. Thanks! When ordering the KYB, I punched in my bike and it said it was not compatable, but since the part number jived, I still ordered it.

This got me thinking about the bladder. I was unable to located the Tucker 770530. I get the impression that Tucker and Technical Touch are distributors to dealers. I did find and going to oder a KYB 88mm bladder that is compatable with 2004-05 KX250F. Does that sound right?

Also, if you have any other part numbers for the list you gave me, it would be great to verify what I have ordered or still need to.

I think the bumper is the same. If not, let me know, and I can buy it from you. I back my word on it.

The bladder is the 88 mm bladder. Again, I put my word on it.

I can get a partial / decent / mostly complete list later. I am on my break from lawn work right now. :-)


Technical Touch is the KYB distributor from Belgium that opened an office in the USA around November 2008. It has been wonderful on finding parts in the USA thanks to them. KYB in Japan makes the parts.

Tucker and Western Power Sports are huge. Look on their sites.

Your post with the part numbers is going to be very helpful. It was also posted well past my bed time.

During one of my seach-a-thons, I came across one that indicated the piston band is 46mm X 10mm. Does this sound about right? Also, I came across K-Tech suspensions. Do you know or have any input on them?

Thanks for these part numbers. It really saved me a lot of time. Found most on ebay, except for the o-rings and piston band. On the o-rings, will I need one or two? Seems like where I saw there were 2 behind that band.

2 is 1994 and newer KX, I think.

I'll remove the piston band and check it out. All those parts added up $$$. Good thing I saved my milk money. Just don't tell momma.

Technical Touch is awesome. Great customer service. I used a dog toy as a bumper for one of my shocks one time. Costed me a dollar. It was just the right hardness and size. Laugh all you want, it worked!

Every time he bottomed out, it made a squeaky noise. :-)

BlkDakDave, good job to get the real parts. I can't remember anyone ever complaining that the parts were low quality. The piston o-ring may not be round underneath. They wear over time. I pulled out one that look similar to a square!

Thanks! I try to stick with OEM, that way you know they're going to fit, going to work and going to last.

The parts are slowly coming in. The wait gave me the time to check and grease the bearings on the swing arm and linkage. Happy to report the bearing were in good shape. This wait has also given my time to wonder about changing to a spring that will accomodate my 200lbs without gear. Another thought is, since I lowered the KDX about 2" with some KLX dog bones, I'm thing about putting in a shock spacer while it's still apart.

Any input in the spring and spacer would be appreciated.

Yes, you need a stiffer than stock spring. 5.2 should get you in the right range.

Gotcha, put the stock bones back on and use a spacer to lower the rear of the bike.

Yep, kinda figured that stock spring was a little to lite for me.

Is there any kind of tutorial write up and/or video on adding this spacer to lower the bike's rear?

I'm afraid suspension tuning is one of my shortcomings.

Spacers limit the fork / shock from extending to normal "fully extended" height.

On the shock, one can usually just turn the adjuster rings to make up for the spring length difference. On the forks, the springs would need to be cut down (assuming they were perfect length before with no extra washers / spacers / etc.)

Ridding a chopper in the woods would mean changing the tail rack to a sissy bar.

When I put the KLX dog bones on and lowered the rear about + / - 2", I slid the forks up about the same. Will be working/changing the front suspension in due time. The more I ride the bike, the more I want to make changes.

Of course these changes and mods are stealth as they have to stay under momma's radar.
