Wife rides it? I'm impressed. I'm out riding my klx today. Hard to tinker on a bike that don't run when u got one that does on a beautiful day like this. Image

So I got my last pie piece cut and tacked in place did a couple other tacks so its solid. I cut all my zip ties and ........
It's stuck in the frame. Ill have to pull motor to get pipe in and out. But it's kinda like stuffing long tube headers in a muscle car right. Ill deal with it. It's coming out pretty good so far.

Ya it will work well not like its a 454 big block.
Now that I got that done I need to strip it for powder coat. Gotta split cases and change main bearings and seals. Hope to get started on that Friday. Gonna go to the machine shop tomorrow with my cylinders. Progress.

Keep the updates coming! Ive been seeing alot of ac 200s popping up for sale here in the N East. Curious about a KIPS ac 200 in a modern frame. Also tons of 04-05 KX250F frames!

A kips one would bolt right in place I believe. My buddy had a kips one in high school. I loved that bikes power.

Like everything else the price of boring has gone up. Last time I had something bored it was like $25 a hole. Just dropped off 5 holes to be bored at $55 a hole. Ouch. Needs to b done tho. He said he'd give me a deal. Stupid inflation.

Cool project! I've been trying to convince my friend to put his 82 kx250 engine in a newer chassis.

I was waiting on tranny bearings. They Prob would of been ok but decided why not change them just for piece of mind. Got those today so I can replace those and start putting engine back together. Connecting rod is good and crank runout is .002 so that is ready. I built a crank/case press at work should work ok
Just got back from powder coated dropping two frames off.
So know I got two engines to reassemble.
Glad to have some space freed up in my shop. First step is clean the shop up.
Thanks it should be a fun bike when done.

I bet the old kx250 motor is pretty strong. Is that air cooled?
