Update - we're looking at the weekend of May 2/3. Arrive Friday afternoon, May 1, ride Sat/Sun/Mon, go home Tue.

Current tally of definates/maybes:

*Rick, myself, Andy, Jarred and camper - definately
*Tom Moody and friend and camper - definately
*Kirk and Austin and a second camper - almost firm?
*PhoneDude and friend - maybe?

If all go that's 10 and that would be a great time. :partyman:

Did I miss anybody? It' possible that another Cincy local or two could come, remains to be seen.

We'd be wise to make camping reservations soon. I talked to the owner today. $25 per night per spot for the campers, $15 per night per spot for the tents. He recommended each camper/tent "owner" make their own reservation. Just let him know that your with the "kdxrider" group. He also said that we need to check in before 6pm because he locks up at that time.

Let's move the gory details and discussion to email, mine's semaj.brown@yahoo.com. We can trade phone numbers and plans, make reservations, etc.

I hope some Dekalb, Chicago-area, OH, and TN folks can make it.

We're making reservations starting this week. Presently, 2 out of 9 possible camper slots are reserved by some other people so there's 7 left. I think Kirk and Tom Moody are making some reservations this week and, hopefully, one of the Three Amigos (Rick, Andy, and Jarred) will make reservations as well.

'Be pretty cool if we make reservations soon enough so that we can all be grouped together. For the time being the owner is going to tentively reserve 4 spots under "kdxrider" group, all next to each other . . . tentitively meaning he isn't going to turn away business. I'm all but certain there'll be 3 campers there but I asked for 4 in case someone else comes out. There are also plenty of tent "spots" as well.

If anyone is interested in coming out consider reservations. You can find contact information at http://www.devilansecampground.com .

Remember to tell them you're with the 'kdxrider" group.

I just made our reservations at Devil Anse Campground for May 1 thru May 4. I've got some work issues on the 5th and I'll have to return to Richmond Monday night but the fellow running the campground is going to let me check out late that day. The owner did comment that one route to his campground has a 9 foot railroad bridge and that we should call him for directions around the bridge if needed.

Tom: The fellow also commented he hasn't heard from you yet. I told him I'd prompt you to call . . . consider yourself prompted! :-)

Austin and I are looking forward to riding with you all again. You know it must be fun if a 17 year-old is willing to hang out with a bunch of old farts in order to ride. :-)

Take care!

Kirk

I'm sure ridding with old farts is better than not riding at all

I have been quite busy at work I need to give him a call.

We VERY MUCH would like to see some more KDXs and kdxrider folks. While some of us have different bikes now, what brought us together was kdxrider.

It's a haul for some members but the accommodations aren't bad at all. And the riding is going to be terrific.

As much as I would like to join you guys at that time in May, MY employer is having a week shutdown the week of Easter.

So I am looking into the LBL or Memphis TN. area at that time.

But I am hoping they could postpone the shutdown until May.

it175 . . . you may wish to call ahead about riding at LBL. The recent ice storm here in KY shut the place down and I haven't heard if they are open yet. Btw, it's a great place to ride if you haven't been there before!

Getting some seat time on the KX the last few days.
We have had temps in the 40's, 68 a few days ago
and the ice has melted.
I resprung the KX the week before last and dialing in the suspension.
Much better but will never match the plush ride of the KDX.
I have not rode the trails we are doing this year but the guy at the campground said you are going up or down all the time.
Not much flat like some of browning fork.
I'm sure we will have another GREAT TIME like last year.
