I never thought of using the hair dryer, not that it would do any good, I don't own one. But I do have a heat gun
I put a KX500 gripper cover on my '92 KDX200
Believe I had to redo it 3 0r 4 times before I got it stretched enough to cover the whole seat. I'd get it as good as I could then let it sit overnight close to the heater. The next day I'd get it on a lil better
I used an Arrow manual stapler, it'd get just enough bite into the seat pan. I then later used a hammer to tack em down
