I think it is a neutral light switch that makes contact on the end of the shift drum

Somebody is wrong with these bike models and I can't wait to find out who.

It could be the back-up light switch...or is that on the other side? But..then... where does the waffle iron plug in? :hmm:

I think CC's right. The back up alarm switch is on the other side.

What are you referring to when you say "PR model"?

The rare Puerto Rican model only exported to Australia and New Zealand?

Wheres the fun in that ??
canyncarvr wrote:Here is my basic mistake: I figgered KayD had some slight clue what kind of bike he had. Sheeeeesh. Forgive me, for I hath sinned!
I do, just some others don't....
canyncarvr wrote:For what it's worth, I looked at BuyKaw for 'non US' models..and didn't see anything like the morph-job pictured herein, whereas and theretofore.
The US manual has pictures of the morph-job pictured therein so go figure that one.
canyncarvr wrote:I don't get the point of links to .au KDXs for sale. Those sellers have no clue what they hell they're talking about or NOT talking about.
My point is, I can find abosloutely NO reference ANYWHERE for any H model 'SR' anything, period.
canyncarvr wrote:Likely he/she/they/it have no idea what an SR is or in many cases that such a thing even exists.
Who does have an idea and does it even exist ?!? I am yet to see one.
canyncarvr wrote:IF your manual (maybe you odda pay attention to it) lists things like sensors under the flywheel, is that a supplement to the 'H' manual or does it say WHAT it is referring to?
My manual doesn't list any sensors, hence this post. But it does show pictures of the case with and without this sensor installed if you look closely.
canyncarvr wrote:Speaking of flywheel...I thought you had a Steahly FWW.
Nope not yet....

Thanks for your help...

Sorry but my bike is a bare boned 1990 E series model. Plastic Tank, no steering lock, no oil feeder etc etc.

To lay this drama to rest, my KDX200 is a 1998 H4 model. It has a few extra goodies that the regular US spec H model doesn't. It is for Australian road compliance, things such as chain guard, neutral light, pillion pegs, steering lock etc. Same things the KTMs over here all have.

As for a 98 H model KDX200 SR model there is no evidence of any such beast ever existing.

My guess is its a neutral light switch, I've seen something similar on a few of the on-off road Kawi's. Might look over the wiring diagrams and find the light green wire.
Good luck!

80: No fair guessing what it is after Ron already told us what it is.
