I left voice message for Fredette on Monday, 2 MAR 2026, during websites posted business hours. Voice message stated that I wanted to buy 3 KDX Clutch Activation Arms. It's mid-day Wednesday, 4 MAR 2026, and no return call has been received.

Can someone in our forum attempt to get sales info from Fredette later this week by telephone or email, please?

Can I ask why you are buying 3? Is it just to have them?

Nighthawk inquires, "Can I ask why you are buying 3? Is it just to have them?"

Billie replies, "I like to have spares on my storage shelf, especially for hard-to-find / unobtanium parts. I live in a very gentrified area where it is necessary to ship almost everything in that I need. Hell, there's barely 1 alternator shop where I live. It's difficult to get welding gas. There's no electronics shop ( you know, where you can walk in to buy rheostats, resisters, capacitors, integrated circuit chips, circuit boards, etc.). There's barely 1 guitar shop. Fortunately, there are at least 2 exceptional surf shops. I'm sure you get the picture. I would probably be fine with only 2 clutch activation arms, but I'm a bit of a glutton when it comes to motorcycle and guitar stuff."

I already have one or maybe two of the KX 125 parts that this is identical to, 92-93 KX 125, they are quite hard to come by. I'm buying at least one of these if not to from Jeff. He has good prices on other parts so I might pick up a Pro X clutch basket, and IRC heavy duty inner tube for my Kenda Equilibrium trials tire (too thin of sidewalls to reliably run tubeless perhaps), as well as seeing if he has any of his upgraded clutch plates that are actually spec for Honda XR and CBR models but fit the KDX with a larger friction surface, and inquiring about a few used parts...

Stoked these are finally ready! Definitely a needed item if you want to run the EBC clutch springs.

Your narrative about how much drive you gained when getting on it hard, after upgrading to stiffer clutch springs, definitely made me consider this modification so that the lever effort remains the same.
I have more recently gotten into a habit of keeping my clutch lever bite much closer to the handlebars and dialing the lever in closer, however. It helps me out and the hard enduro type technical terrain, as I feel out of control reaching out a lot further on the lever when going over obstacles. I've got a lot of training to do this year, hopefully I can get out for some solo training sessions to Perry State Forest fairly frequently, or at least show up extra early for the group rides with friends.

Just spoke with Jeff Fredette to complete my purchase of his new KDX clutch activation arm. Jeff expressed surprise that the demand is as high as it is for this part. I'm not.

It would be fun to know who else in our forum besides Nighthawk and me purchased this utch activation arm.

If they worked on the E series I would most definitely buy one. If I understand correctly though, they don't.
The one on my E series has seen better days. But, it gets the job done.

I'll very likely be buying 1 or 2 in the near future. I have zero issue with the clutch pull effort, but want the longer leverage arm in order to retain the same clutch lever effort while using stronger aftermarket clutch springs for more firm engagement when getting on the throttle aggressively at higher revs.

His also have some sort of sealing washer on top to keep dirt away from the actual oil seal. Interesting. I never had issue with that, but I'll take all improvements to be had when rebuilding and modifying my favorite off-road bikes...

I wonder how many of these he's had manufactured in this batch?

I received my actuator yesterday. The finish on it is certainly questionable. Im a big fan of the freshly media blasted look, but the blobs of weld are concerning.

Hopefully the fit is much better!

That is surprising that it's welded there and not machined. But where the welds are located, I don't think there should be any impact during operation.

Potentially made in two or three pieces by the looks, as if somebody had difficulty turning something that long and narrow......... hmmmmm

Not that it would effect functionality, but I'd be curious to put a dial indicator on it to if there's any run out....

Or possibly that it is a part from another model that met the proper criteria other than the length being incorrect on the portion inserting into the clutch housing...?

Shoot! I meant to post information gathered by email with. Fredette and a related photo in this topic (below). Instead, it was accidentally posted "over there"
( viewtopic.php?t=23324&start=120 ).

As a consequence, Chuck's followup comment is also posted "over there." Chuck indicates he perceived Fredette's new clutch arm fabrication involves welding 2 existing parts together with a 3rd piece that couples them together.

That was precisely my first assumption when seeing the construction.
