Who Carries Tools When They Ride?
It can get rough out there. I know a couple of guys that have spent the night in the forest. Not much fun but livable if you're prepared.
Da Butt Pack... Ogio 450 the best...
Along with all the tools needed to do light work on my bike I have, JB Weld, self charging flashlight, lighter, money and a compass. In my backpack I keep a space blanket, water purifier, windbreaker, folding saw, first aid kit and some food. Hope I never have to use any of it.

I carry a Tusk T-handle toolkit, long handle phillips/#2 flathead screwdrivers, mini vise-grips, CO2 inflator, tire plug kit, spark plug socket w/wrench, all in a Tusk fender bag up front. I use the stock Moose bag in the rear to carry a couple of power/candy bars, a Gatorade, and a one handed hacksaw.
I guess I probably should add a couple more things like the blanket and first aid kit. now if I can just remember to do it!

I wear a fanny pack that I bought at a sporting goods store for around $10-12. I have had it for *years*. I found a large cloth filter bag for an industrial water filtration system, and I just roll all of my tools up in it and secure the whole thing with rubber bands cut from an old inner tube. The bag can double as a rag, if I need one. My bag is not as fancy as most, but it easily carries my wallet, a 16oz bottled beverage, and some food, if I think that I am going to need it. I only keep a spare plug and the OEM plugwrench in the stock rear fender bag (wrapped up in a rag, so it won't bounce around and put a hole in the bag).

Question... If you could only have one tool on the trail what would it be?

Good God Wibbens! Are you going to Iraq or what? I love it. If there's one guy I'd like to be stuck with in the woods, it would be you (of course I mean that in the manliest way)!
One thing you reminded me of is that my tow strap is on my other bike.

I don't like getting caught out in the woods without something
Most everything has been put to use at one point or was needed when I did not have it so I added it
BTW, My little tire pump, pumps on both strokes.
I've tried the co2 cartridges, but once they are used up you are SOL

Agreed, I've used this with good results. Once the CO2 is gone, start pumping.Mr. Wibbens wrote:

I used to use it on my DR650 when I'd drop air for dirt rides then top it back up for the pavement ride home
I tested it on a totally flat front and rear tire. Took me around 2 1/2 minutes for the front and about 4 minutes for the rear to get to 22 psi

I carry some tools, but no survival stuff. Here in PA where we ride you are never more than a few miles from a road. Plus I NEVER ride off-road alone so even if I am hurt one of the guys I ride with can get help.
