Does it matter what kind of riding you will be doing?
I will have very few days where I am opening this sob up.... I have an 8 yr old daughter that saved up and begged for a bike for just over a year before I stumbled on a great deal on a ttr 90.....(was looking HARD for a KLX 90 and now wish even more that is what I got)...
But anyhow...I'll be following and leading her around a LOT of the time.. .ON and OFF the throttle... Brap...Braaap..........Brap.....Braaap... You know. There will be a day or two where I can go rip...but it will be rare...
Does THAT make a diff in the kind of oil I use? I suspect not.

Re: Fuel Mixture Calculator
Hey folks, I'll stick this question in here rather than make a new thread I guess.
How much does pre-mixing fuel matter? I like to keep a 5 gallon can around, already pre-mixed and ready to go. It lasts about 12-15 days so far.
Is there any truth about the oil breaking down in the gas and becoming less effective as time goes on?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Fuel Mixture Calculator
This is kind of like asking what kind of oil should I use, there are as many opinions as there are bung holes The facts, however, are:
The oil does not break down, and in fact once mixed with the fuel it stays mixed. Now knowing this I still shake the can before I pour it, some bad habits never die. The problem with long term storage of fuel is that most people keep their gas in plastic jugs. These are not airtight, and the porosity of the plastic allows the light ends of the fuel to evaporate, lowering the effective octane level. For best results store your premix in an airtight, metal can (like the old military jerry cans, or the cans that race fuel comes in). Even stored in plastic you are fine out to a month.

Re: Fuel Mixture Calculator
Thats completely right. About the calculator I use a 2 cycle oil mixing bottle by seasence and you can find it at walmart for around $2. Thats The best investment you can do for your bike and is the easiest way too.

Fuel Mixture Calculator
That thing works great. I had 550ml of oil in my gas can and needed to know how much gas to add to get a 32-1 ratio, worked like a charm! Thanks for that.

Fuel Mixture Calculator
That is an awesome calculator. I will bookmark it on my phone for those rides where I have to pump gas directly into my tank from a station on the side of the road. In an instance where I may not have service I also have found that there are plenty of basic fuel/oil ratio apps out there too.

Re: Fuel Mixture Calculator
2FAST you might wanna check your jetting. I run Maxima Castor 927, it smells yummy or Amsoil Dominator Syn 2 Stroke Oil.
Plenty of info on jetting on here.
