KDX supermoto

Post by awoodman »

Hi all, it's been awhile since i've posted on here. I've got a question about getting my kdx on the road. I'd like to find some street tires, like supermoto tires that are sticky. Does anyone make tires that go directly on the stock wheels on a 2006 kdx200?

I think you can find dual sport dot tires for the stock 21 and 18.
For a wider choice, you might need to go 17" rim.

yeah, for a real super moto you need different wheels. I've seen some super moto'd kdx's that used some kind of sport bike wheels/tires.

Here is one I found on a Japanese website. It is a KDX250SR with some sportbike suspension modded to fit it.

With a spare shock and forks (one woods, one street), and of course seperate wheels/hubs, you could swap applications in a very short amount of time. I want a 500cc SM.

I feel the same way. I have no use and no desire for a super-moto anything.
I wouldn't mind having another dual purpose bike (Kost Too Much 990 Adventure would be my first choice) but I keep spending all my money on pure off road stuff (bought a 2011 750 Brute Force Tuesday afternoon to go with our other off road toys) so that may never happen. I've had pure street bikes, I've had pure off road bikes, and I've had dual purpose bikes. I get a lot more enjoyment out of the pure off road stuff.
